As the Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber leading medical weight management at LUX, Nicole (Nikki) provides a patient-centered, highly personal clinical experience. She believes effective care comes from true shared decision-making between provider and patient, in a welcoming, supportive setting.

Rather than applying standard, generic protocols, Nicole personally evaluates, prescribes and monitors each treatment plan based on your health history, metabolic factors and personal goals. From your complimentary consultation through medical weight management and body contouring, she guides every patient toward sustainable health with clinical precision and compassionate support.

Understanding obesity

What is obesity?

Weight management is a medical conversation, not a willpower one.

Obesity is a recognized chronic and relapsing disease, not a personal failing or a lack of discipline. The Obesity Medicine Association describes it as a multi-factorial, neurobehavioral disease in which excess body fat leads to metabolic, mechanical and psychosocial health consequences.

Genetics, hormones, metabolism, medications, sleep, stress and environment all shape how the body regulates appetite, burns energy and stores weight. That is why restrictive diets so often fail, and why lasting results come from treating the underlying biology.

Preventative action

Addressing weight early, before related conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure or sleep apnea take hold, is one of the most effective things you can do for long-term health. A medical evaluation is the first step.

How we treat it

We follow the guidance of the Obesity Medicine Association and build every plan on five pillars: medical interventions, nutrition therapy, physical activity, behavioral modification, and sleep and recovery.
